Canberra Branch started in 1938 and besides running a Boys’ Club, its members did good work with the elderly in the community. They also instigated the Blood Transfusion Service in Canberra, and for some years some members ‘adopted’ the children in the Aboriginal Settlement at Wreck Bay. Each Christmas toys were delivered to them. The Branch provided secondary and primary school scholarships for children at the Settlement. The Emergency Flashing Light Scheme was a worthwhile project in Canberra for many years.
In 1966 The Toc H World Chain of Light started in Canberra and in May 1985 the Toc H Jubilee Celebrations were held there. Several National Youth Leadership Courses have been held in Canberra and Annual General Meetings of the Toc H Australia Council have often been held there in more recent years.
